My First Birthday!

Happy birthday to me! Check out all the nice things people got me for my birthday! The only bad thing is that I'm going to end up with writer's cramp after writing all my thank-you notes. I didn't really like wearing my birthday hat, I think it goes much better on daddy, don't you? When it was time to blow out the candle on my cake, mommy and daddy had to help me. I was too busy checking out that picture of the good looking dude in the middle of my cake. Man, he's a handsome guy! Even though it was a bit messy, I enjoyed eating the cake.

Then it was time to open presents. Mommy got smart and got my chair because I was wearing out daddy's arms. You can see I enjoy my Tonka truck, even though I like standing on it backwards. My friend Geneva was there, but I got kinda side-tracked checking out myself in the mirror of my singing toy. It's early practice for my American Idol auditions.

Halloween!

You tell me which is more indicative of Halloween, me in the hood of my monkey costume (it was too hot to put the whole thing on), or daddy. Daddy says next year I might get to go trick or treating since I'll be able to walk a bit; he says I'm a bit too big to carry around the neighborhood.

Getting ready for my big day!

Sorry about being a bit slack on keeping up the blog. We've had a touch of illness running around the past couple of weeks; nothing major, I had a cold that led to an ear infection and daddy's had a cold as well. I got my first exposure to Southern fun as I went to a local "seafood" festival which was more carnival than anything else. I also got a head start on my birthday presents by playing with the airplane walker my aunt Andi got me. I discovered it works well as a step stool in addition to being useful as a walker and rider. I also proved that I can escape from the hidden traps in the household like the diabolical loop on my fence. It's no match for baby brainpower! But mostly I've just been hanging out waiting on the birthday.
